Kacey Fifield Shares New Single ‘Left Behind’
New York-based singer and songwriter Kacey Fifield shares her brand new single Left Behind, a captivating indie/synthpop cut taken from her brand new EP, Nostalgia Haunts Me, which is out now!
I am really enjoying Kacey Fifield's smooth, expressive vocals which glide passionately over the infectious production. Left Behind is a song about the fear of being lost in the past and left behind by those around her. The song shares an encouraging message of letting go of our fears and allowing ourselves to understand that there are things out of our control. This message is beautifully wrapped around a memorable synth-driven production with an infectious driving beat and a chorus perfect to sing along to.
Speaking about the song, Kacey Fifield said,
I came up with the idea for this song when I was in the thick of receiving my college decisions. It was the end of the year, all of my relationships felt like they were falling apart, and I was terrified of the future. Since “nostalgia haunts me,” I felt terrified of “living in the past my whole life” and getting “left behind” by those around me. This darker lyrical theme is juxtaposed with an upbeat, danceable instrumental. This pairing is meant to express the catharsis of finally letting go of my fears and recognizing that my worries are out of my control. Written by Kacey Fifield, Michael Kamerman, and Sam Beresford.
