Ormella Shares Debut Single ‘Never's a Promise’

East London's Ormella makes her entrance into the music scene with her emotionally-charged debut single Never's a Promise, a daring and enchanting folk song.

What I like the most about this song is how warm and intimate it sounds which is perfect for those introspective days home alone. A relatable song about heartache, Never's a Promise finds the talented artist effortlessly showcasing her rich, emotionally-charged vocals that share a message of guidance for anyone healing the wounds of a broken heart. I am loving her tone and how her delivery is packed with raw emotion and soul, beautifully backed by intricate acoustic guitar plucks which are seamlessly paired with steady drum patterns and subtle brass elements that come together to create such a comforting atmosphere that most of us can relate to.

Accompanying the release, Ormella shares its captivating music video, directed by Sean Rey, which enhances the song's heartfelt atmosphere. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Ormella said,
‘Never’s a Promise’ is one of those songs that poured out of me—it wasn’t a labour of love like some of the other songs I’ve written this year. Lyrically, it’s one of the most truthful reflections of how I was feeling while coming out of a relationship with someone I felt had more than deceived me but that I still deeply love. The chorus of the song and title is like a prayer for me; a promise to myself to move on from someone who has shown me, in so many different ways, that he doesn’t care at all; It’s also a cathartic ‘f*ck you’ to them.
