TRAITS Share Debut Single ‘Holding On’

British 4-piece band TRAITS, which bring together the vibrant sounds of synth by Dan Davies, the punchy rhythms of Ben Mclaughlin and Josh Murphy, the delicate lead guitar of Matt Campbell and the dreamy vocals of Kieran McCarthy, make their official music introduction with the release of their debut single Holding On

What I like the most about this song is how passionate and dreamy Kieran McCarthy's vocals sound, soaring beautifully over their infectious blend of indie and slacker rock elements. Holding On is a song about what is going through people's heads when they decide to keep the relationship going even though things aren't working that great. Apart from Kieran's lovely vocals I am particularly fond of the cool guitar riffs and how they are nicely intertwined with cool rhythms, steady drums and bright synths that create an overall warm, laid-back atmosphere perfect for the summer. Speaking about the song, Kieran McCarthy said

It's about looking at certain ‘white knuckle ride’ relationships and different couples you see. They may not seem to get along and they realize that they're holding on to this whole idea of love. It's a completely illogical decision to keep the relationship going but it's as if these people are tied together and Holding On is my perspective on what would go through someone's head in a situation like that.
