A Rússia vetou a entrada da Geórgia do “Festival Eurovisão da Canção” por alegadamente, possuir frases contra o governo Russo, infringindo assim uma das regras da “Eurovisão”, a de as letras das músicas não poderem possuir mensagens de conteúdo político.
A música chama-se “We don't wanna put in”, que em Português significa, “Nós não queremos pôr”, mas em inglês as palavras “put” e “in”, seguidas, formam o nome do líder governo russo, e que sendo assim, significaria “Nós não queremos Putin”. A Rússia considerou que a frase era um ataque ao governo Russo, e agora, a Geórgia está fora do Festival. ( lembraste que este dois países estiveram em guerra...). A Sociedade Europeia de Difusão exigira, na terça-feira, que a Geórgia alterasse o texto da canção ou substituísse o representante do país no festival, alegando que o regulamento do concurso proíbe a interpretação de composições com apelos políticos e outros. O grupo recusou-se a alterar o texto da canção, retirando-se assim do Festival Eurovisão da Canção de 2009.
Enfim, regras são regras, não deixando de ser triste tal coisa...



"The Eurovision Song Contest reference group has reviewed the Georgian submission for the 2009 competition and, earlier than expected, has issued a decision. The song selected in Georgia's national final, We don't wanna put in by Stephane and 3G will not be allowed to participate at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow.
The song appears to have clear political meaning and is has been widely seen in international and local media as an attack on the Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin. The song is in breach of the Eurovision Song Contest rules and will not be allowed to take part in the competition.
The EBU Reference Group has officially offered GPB the opportunity to select another song, or to change the lyrics of the selected song in such a way that it complies with the Rules."
The group decided not to change the lyrics, and also decided to withdraw their participation from Eurovision Song Contest 2009.
