Heart have released their new album, Fanatic, earlier this month and it is a great album showcasing Ann Wilson’s outstanding vocal range. The band, which was almost forgotten in the 90s, has returned in the 00's with 3 albums now: 2004’s Jupiters Darling, 2010’s Red Velvet Car, and this year’s Fanatic. They have brought back their edgy rock sound but haven't forgotten the incredible way they make softer songs. The title track, Fanatic, is edgy and filled with angst and cool guitar riffs! I am a lover of rock ballads and softer songs and on this album we are graced with the amazing folksy song Walkin' Good featuring Sarah McLachlan. It is a good break of the edgy rock songs on the record. Million Miles is another favourite song of mine, it is feisty and Ann's voice shines so bright!! I also loved Dear Old America, it has that blues vibe that fits perfectly with the heavy guitar riffs and ending with the violins! With this album Heart remind us they are here to stay and still have a lot to contribute to today's rock music! Recently being awarded with a Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star, Heart prove once more they still got it! They've brought their energy back! Now just a personal request... I want a new rock ballad like Alone, it was the song that made me love them (I love softer rock ballads)!
