Julia Morgan Unveils New Single ‘Performing’

Indie-pop singer-songwriter, actress, and comedian Julia Morgan has just unveiled her brand new single Performing, an upbeat electro-pop cut that examines the pressure to please others and the feeling of constantly putting on a show. 

 

Out now via Mindful Recordings, Performing finds the talented artist exploring what happens when the effort to meet other people’s expectations makes it difficult to recognise and embrace your authentic self. Ultimately, this is a song about moving from insecurity towards self-acceptance and connection. A message beautifully conveyed through Morgan's smooth, expressive vocals which are accompanied by driving beats, catchy synths and textures that come together to create an overall warm, upbeat listening experience.

Speaking about the song, Julia Morgan said,

We thought, ‘This song is about dancing; why don’t we make it a song people will want to dance to?’ I love how it is upbeat, and people can listen and dance to it, and then if they want to dig deeper into the lyrics, they can become more introspective and cry. I like the layers to it.
