Jake Herring Unveils New Single ‘Sweet Pocket Aces’

American singer and songwriter Jake Herring has just unveiled his brand new single Sweet Pocket Aces, a heartfelt alt-country/folk song.

His third single to date, following the intimate Hollow Man and the delicate Pepe Le Pew, Sweet Pocket Aces was recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Herring himself and finds him singing about those relationships when things were high they were really high and when they were low, they were truly low. A song about having the best and worst case scenarios all in one; having that intense attraction to someone, capturing the tension between enjoying the moment and wanting something more meaningful. It also shows that some people still find happiness within pain, and pain within happiness as the relationship is quite intense and volatile.

I am a fan of his vocals and how hearfelt and packed with raw emotion his vocal delivery is, being nicely accompanied by intricate guitar plucks, smooth rhythms, gentle keys and a memorable cello, together creating an overall moody, yet romantic atmosphere.

Accompanying the release, Jake Herring shares its official music video, directed by Adam Bartoshesky (Captain Barto), which was shot on Super 8 Film and stars the lovely Emilia Paige.
