Penny Roox Drops New Single ‘who will take care of me’

Dutch singer and songwriter Penny Roox has just shared her brand new single who will take care of me, a smooth and comforting piece of indie-folk music. 

 

who will take care of me is a song that addresses themes of dependency, identity, and the painful uncertainty of change. The song was written during the final phase of her first long-term relationship, at a moment when love and fear of abandonment became increasingly difficult to separate from one another. It also finds the talented artist exploring the versions of oneself and the other person that existed within it. 

 

A moving and heartfelt story that is flawlessly conveyed through Roox's whisper-soft vocals which are accompanied by a delicate guitar arrangement which is nicely paired with subtle rhythms and textures which come together to create an overall raw and intimate atmosphere perfect for introspective days home alone.

Speaking about the song, Penny Roox said,

Pieces of Durbuy, Lithuania, Rotterdam… During the relationship, in this strange in-between phase, after the break-up… I recorded the song in the places and moments where I had the most questions. It feels like flipping through my own diary. Some parts still feel very fresh and sometimes uncomfortable to listen back to.
