Obed Padilla Unveils New Single ‘RODEO CLOWN’

Chicano singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Obed Padilla has just unveiled his brand new single RODEO CLOWN, an upbeat, feel-good alt-pop song. 

 

The title track of his upcoming EP, set to arrive on May 22nd via Big Family Music, RODEO CLOWN finds the talented artist singing about a chaotic relationship between two completely mismatched people who simply can't get enough of each other. It focuses on the irresistible chemistry and the addictive, slightly destructive energy of the whole thing. A tongue-in-cheek banger about being hopelessly hooked on someone who is absolutely wrong for you and loving every second of it. I am loving the tone of his voice and how passionately his vocal delivery is, soaring brightly atop the captivating alt-pop production. Apart from his vocals, I am particularly fond of the punchy drum beats nicely intertwined with sun-soaked guitar lines, delicate rhythms and textures that come together to create an overall warm, feel-good atmosphere perfect for a carefree summer's day.

Speaking about the EP, Obed Padilla said,

I dealt with a lot of grief the last couple years and to my surprise, healing wasn’t linear. I believe there are 6 stages and the 6th stage is feeling like the rodeo clown for being the last one at the party still dealing with things everyone already moved on from. The star of the show and the butt of the joke.
