Mona et Toi Share New Single ‘Jail Cell’

Barcelona-based noir-rock duo Mona et Toi, made up by French singer-songwriter Alison Manicourt and British-Iranian composer and producer Shervin Hejazi, have just shared their brand new single Jail Cell, a memorable alt-pop/indie-rock gem.
The follow up to their memorable alt-rock single Nothing Rhymes With Myself, Jail Cell is a deeply personal and introspective track that captures the tension between wanting to rewrite one’s life, fearing it might be too late to dream, and yet being unable to resist the urge to try. This gem is beautifully conveyed through those lush, passionate vocals which glide confidently over the captivating indie-rock production. Accompanying that powerful vocal performance we have fuzzy guitar lines nicely intertwined with punchy drum beats, rich electronic textures and an irresistible hook that together create another striking example of Mona et Toi’s unmistakably chameleon-like sound — ever-evolving, through emotion, confidence and experimentation.
