Mary Middlefield Shares New Single ‘Milk’

Rising indie-rock singer and songwriter Mary Middlefield shares her brand new single Milk, a haunting, orchestral-led indie-pop gem.

The follow up to her acclaimed singles Wake Up! and Summer Affair, Milk is the latest single to be taken from her highly anticipated second studio album Will You Take Me As I Am? arriving 6th March. Built around piano, harp and sweeping violin, Milk finds the talented artist using the image of a forgotten bottle in the fridge as a metaphor for emotional worth and the human need to be chosen. It's a song of waiting for someone else's approval only to face the quiet devastation of waiting so long they begin to fade.

A song about anxiety around time and conditional love, revealing a story not just about rejection, but about losing yourself while hoping to be consumed. A relatable storytelling flawlessly conveyed through Middlefield's smooth, enchanting vocals which are accompanied by a haunting, orchestral-led production that won me over from the start. I am particularly fond of the epic, cinematic strings and how rich and dramatic the whole production is, making this quite a memorable and enthralling listening experience.
