Meli Foster-Turner Shares New Single ‘Wishful thinking’

Fast-rising 16-year-old singer, songwriter and guitarist Meli Foster-Turner has just shared her brand new single Wishful thinking, a captivating folk-pop song. 

 

Written by Meli, the track finds the talented British artist capturing emotional tension between hope and doubt within a relationship. It shows one being deeply in love but painfully aware of their own self-destructive patterns and scared of ruining the relationship because of it. A raw and honest song about wanting love to work out but struggling to believe you deserve it, Wishful thinking pairs Meli Foster-Turner's emotionally-charged vocals with intricate guitar plucks and cinematic strings, together creating an overall warm, intimate atmosphere perfect for an introspective moment alone.

Speaking about the release, Meli says:

‘Roses, angels, whisper in my ear / Devils, takers, frame me in the mirror / Pull me out of the wreckage’ really sums up the message behind ‘Wishful thinking’. I wrote this track during a time where I was battling self-sabotaging thoughts within a recent relationship, and it reflects that inner push and pull between hope and doubt. Compared to my previous two singles, this one leans more upbeat, but still holds onto that emotional honesty at its core.
