Erica Knox Unveils New Single ‘Kerosene’

Toronto-based singer-songwriter Erica Knox shares her brand new single Kerosene, a folk-tinged pop gem that turns heartbreak into healing.

Taken from her upcoming debut EP (out this Fall/Autumn), Kerosene finds the talented artist beautifully showcasing her emotionally-charged, siren-like vocals that radiate so much soul that effortlessly makes me feel each and every single word she is singing. I am loving the song's nostalgic touch and how it explores the shame and longing that often follow a first heartbreak, and the fear of being “too much.” A very powerful, emotionally rich piece of music that pairs Erica Knox's stellar vocal performance with memorable guitar riffs, delciate strings and ambient layers that create an overall warm, intimate atmosphere packed with longing and nostalgia!

Speaking about the song, Erica Knox said,

It’s a full circle moment. I wrote it after my first trip to London, and my first heartbreak. Coming back, and recording at Abbey Road, it feels like the perfect time for this song to be heard. The lyrics and picking pattern hold a lot of space so we didn’t want to overcrowd it during production, there’s something about this one that feels like it’s been waiting for the right moment to be heard.
