Bird Shares New Single ‘Daddy’

Bird, the moniker of British/Irish singer and songwriter Janie Price shares her brand new single Daddy, a captivating blend of acoustic-folk and Americana out now via Pop Fiction Records. 

 

Written with long time colleague and friend Dire Straits’ former lead guitarist Hal Lindes, Daddy finds the talented artist looking at the complex relationship between a Father and his Son and what happens due to a fundamental lack of love shown between them. Sadly a very relatable storytelling that is flawlessly conveyed through Bird's rich, expressive vocals which exude raw, honest emotion and soul that will give you the feels in no time. Accompanying her heartfelt vocal delivery we have gorgeous guitar plucks, courtesy of Country Award winning guitarist Ilya Toshinsky, which are seamlessly intertwined with steady drum patterns and lush strings that come together to create an overall warm, heartfelt atmosphere.

This is a love song. But, it is not about how much love someone feels but how little. How a fundamental lack of love when someone is young may create a driving a desire to achieve, that they might have great financial success but are left unable to ever fill the empty void tenderness should occupy.. It's about how that void then travels and becomes passed down from generation to generation, mutating subtly along the way, causing chains of repeating negative events that are near impossible to break..
