FERGUS Shares New Single ‘More Than I Deserve’
London-based, alt-pop singer/songwriter FERGUS has just shared his brand new single More Than I Deserve, a powerful indie/folktronica song out now via Goldun Egg Records.
Co-produced by FERGUS and Jake Gosling, More Than I Deserve follows previous singles All I Dream and Leave Me Light, and is the third single taken from FERGUS’ debut album set for release in 2022.
This gem is a relatable song about conflict within a relationship and doing the best you can to find a way through it. It beautifully showcases the angst, commitment and hard work necessary to make a relationship work and get past any sort of conflict.
I am a fan of FERGUS' gorgeous, emotive vocals and how they are beautifully backed by an evocative soundscape that allows for his vocals and storytelling to soar. More Than I Deserve's chiming electric guitar melts into richly textured, spacious electronics and brooding percussion, as FERGUS’ raw and honest vocal reflects on navigating the darker times of a relationship to ultimately find hope. ‘More Than I Deserve’ was born out of conflict in a relationship. I wanted to convey that restless angst of turning things over and over in your mind, trying to find a way through that conflict. It’s a song about commitment and persevering, even though it hurts. So, although it sounds dark and painful, really it’s a message of dedication and hope. A declaration of love.
