Jess Chalker Unveils New Single ‘Cynical’

Following the release of her upbeat single Don't Fight It, and the 80s-inspired Stupid Trick, London-based Australian alt-pop singer and songwriter Jess Chalker has just shared her brand new single Cynical, the latest single to be taken from her forthcoming album, Hemispheres set to arrive on November 5th via her own imprint 528 Records.

I am a fan of Jess Chalker's lovely vocals which have a commanding and classic touch that instantly make her songs stand out and giving me Kate Bush and St. Vincent vibes. Co-written with Dan Long (Local Natives), Cynical is a moody, alt-pop gem that beautifully showcasesChalker's characterful vocals which blaze atop sultry guitars, with brooding piano lines that underpin themes of seduction and conflicted relationships. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Jess Chalker said,
'Musically this song feels quite drama-filled. There's a tension in it that's familiar, like the tumult of being in one of those relationships you know won't go the distance but feels good in the moment.’
