Sea Girls Unveil New Single ‘Sick’
British band Sea Girls have just shared their brand new single Sick, the first single to be taken from their forthcoming highly-anticipated new album Homesick set to arrive on January 14th 2022 on Polydor Records.
I am a fan of Henry Camamile's vocals and how passionate his delivery is, instantly drawing our attention to their relatable storytelling. Sick is an introspective pop/rock song about being fed up with everything, realising you're no longer a child and that it's time to grow up, even though the easiest would be to ask for a reset on things. I think most of us can relate to this song, especially with the lockdowns almost forcing us to do some soul searching at home.
This is definitely a song I'll be playing whenever I'm sick of something. I am really enjoying the anthemic atmosphere of the song which is enhanced by Henry's passionate vocals flowing effortlessly over soaring guitars and punchy drums. The whole song has a high-energy, feel-good atmosphere that oozes summer festival vibes. Sick is yet another gem by this British band and I am happy to share it with you guys. Check it out below!
Sick is me listing things I’m pissed off with and feeling sorry for myself, it’s a growing up song where I realise I’m no longer a young child. It’s me in my bedroom at home ranting with my thoughts and going down the hole of being pissed. I am sick of everything - from things I used to love through to things that feel vacuous, like consuming and buying. All these emotions are piling up and it's me just asking for a reset, a childish solution. It was a turning point in the writing for this album where the songs became about worrying for other people and how they were feeling. The pivot where I started writing clearly with a bigger perspective. I literally feel myself growing up throughout this song.
