Speaking about the song, Counting Chances said,
Everyone who knew Brad would agree he was a "Magical person" - truly a light in this world bringing joy to many people. He was an arborist and died in an accident summer before last (he was 35). We wrote the song to help process the emotions of loss and grief and to make a tribute for his family and his girlfriend/lifepartner. To know Brad was to love Brad. He was a kind and gentle and caring human who left this earth too soon. "Heaven must have needed an arborist" - why else could such a kind soul be taken home so soon..
