Mountain Bird Shares New Single ‘Too Blue’

Mountain Bird, the moniker of Swedish singer, songwriter and producer Adam Öhman, has just shared his brand new single Too Blue, the latest single to be taken from his upcoming EP, Once We Were Present.

I am a fan of his expressive, emotive vocal delivery and how they are beautifully backed by a polished electro-pop production. Too Blue looks at the recent downward spiral in the world’s mental health, particularly in relation to mankind’s relationship with technology. The song tackles the often tabooed subject of being privileged and depressed, and looks at how we often look to remedy our situations through material means instead of talking to each other.

This message is wrapped around an infectious production packed with an expansive, airy soundscape of stereo bouncing synths, cavernous drums, and interjecting hand claps and clicks that create the perfect atmosphere for the listener to focus on his vulnerable vocals, delivering lyrics that cut to the chase.  I am also really fond of how the chorus is perfect to sing along to, giving the song somewhat of an anthemic touch that got me hooked right after the very first listen. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Mountain Bird said,

‘Too Blue’ is about being vulnerable. What I noticed growing up, and growing forward from 22 to 27, is the power in people being vulnerable together. I know I can help people by talking about depression so that’s my driver in terms of doing all of this! I really love it when my music prompts my fans to open up about their problems too.
