Barclaycard Mercury Prize '2014 Albums of the Year' to be announced Next Week
It's that time of the year again! The Barclaycard Mercury Prize '2014 Albums of the Year' will be revealed at 5.30pm on Wednesday September 10th. Presenter and broadcaster Alice Levine will make the announcement at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden. Viewers will be able to tune in on Channel 4 at 12:05 am on the night of Thursday, September 11th! The 30-minute Albums of the Year Launch programme will be presented by Nick Grimshaw and feature live performances and interviews with the shortlisted artists.

The Barclaycard Mercury Prize recognises and celebrates music in the UK and has a reputation for highlighting both new talent and more established bands and artists. The shortlist of 12 'Albums of the Year' is chosen by an independent judging panel and provides a snapshot of the year in music, recognising artistic achievement across a range of music genres. Albums by British and Irish artists with a UK release date between Tuesday September 10th 2013 and Monday September 8th 2014 (inclusive) are eligible for the 2014 Prize.

The overall winner of the 2014 Prize will be decided and announced at the Barclaycard Mercury Prize Awards Show at the Roundhouse on Wednesday October 29th.
