The Wombats unveil euphoric new single, ‘Turn’

The Wombats
I've just found a track that I'll keep playing over and over again! Having just debuted on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show as his “World Record”, The Wombats have revealed their euphoric new single, Turn, taken from the forthcoming new album Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, due February 9th via Kobalt Music Recordings. Beautiful synth works and an overall anthemic vibe that just gets me excited for their new album! Loving it! Listen below!

Frontman Matthew “Murph” Murphy explains,
Turn was written in New York and is probably the most electronic song on the album. Which is weird as I was pushing for the album to be more organic and less synth driven. ‘Turn’ was… kind of a beautiful mistake.
Written from three corners of the globe – drummer Dan Haggis in London, bassist Tord Øverland Knudsen nursing his new family in Oslo and Murph in Los Angeles – Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life was created over long distance writing sessions, supplemented by intense two-week in-person sessions in Oslo. Produced by Mark Crew (Bastille, Rag’n’Bone Man) and Catherine Marks (Wolf Alice), the album finds The Wombats pushing the boundaries of alt-pop innovation with a lush, ultramodern indie soundscape, irrepressible hooks and tragi-comic lyricism belied by a newfound maturity and moving emotional depth.

2017 has already seen the Liverpool-bred trio headline Brixton Academy (which sold-out in under 24 hours), as well as two sold-out nights at the Sydney Opera House.

Set to headline North America this January, and to join The Pixies and Weezer through the US in June and July, The Wombats will play the following sold out UK headline shows through March 2018.
