August reveals new single ‘Chemical’
August, now the solo project of London indie pop artist Steve Hughes, has released his brand new single Chemical. I adore his voice and the song is beautiful. Loving those guitar riffs and how emotional his  vocals are here. Chemical is an epic yet delicate song about rekindling a love growing cold and takes inspiration from the word ‘passion’ originally meaning ‘willing to suffer’. Hughes explains,
To truly love is to walk through both joy and suffering, this song is about trying to handle both of these opposing forces.

With each release so far, August has unveiled a gift for anthemic songwriting in the shape of previous singles Sword, Ghosts, and Cruel (as a duo and my favourite track).

The inspiration behind the moniker, August came from an old song Hughes wrote previously with the same name that he always liked, and it was also the month he started working on this new project. August has recently appeared live supporting Meadowlark & Frida Sundemo and have previously supported 21 Pilots. There will be more live shows happening later this year.
