Ruby Gill Shares New Single ‘Jacaranda’

South Africa-born, Australia-based musician and poet Ruby Gill returns with her brand new single Jacaranda, an upbeat indie-folk gem.

The follow up to her tender song Porchlight, Jacaranda is taken from her latest album Fishing is not about fishing, which is out now, and finds the talented artist sharing a quietly devastating portrait of a child processing their parents' separation on a long drive. It's a raw and tender song about the complicated freedom that comes when something painful finally becomes real enough to feel, wrapped around an upbeat production. I am really enjoying how effortless and relatable her storytelling is, beautifully conveyed through her expressive vocals which are nicely paired with intricate guitar strums, upbeat drum patterns and rhythms that come together to create an overall feel-good listening experience.
