Pat Hamilton Shares New Single ‘Love?’

Scottish singer-songwriter Pat Hamilton has just dropped his brand new single Love?, a passionate, emotionally-charged song. 

 

Out now via Canvas Music, Love? follows the heartfelt guitar-led gem Colorado, and sits in the space between heartbreak and falling for someone new — hopeful, hesitant and never quite sure which way it’s going to go. A song that lives in the blurry middle ground between heartbreak and new love, refusing to fully commit to either, beautifully showcasing the back-and-forth between wanting to let go completely and staying braced for it to go wrong again. 

 

I am loving how rich and passionate Pat Hamilton's voice is, soaring effortlessly over the acoustic instrumentation and making me feel each and every single word he is singing about. The song starts quite smooth with gentle guitar plucks, gradually building towards a bouncy, acoustic-driven musicality that gives the track a sense of movement and release without losing its intimacy.

What makes me proud of this song is its authenticity. It's not about 'heartbreak' or 'love', but the space between them. As a writer it's so easy to lazily play into one or both of them, but in this song I tell it how it is. It's like if 'Shark Attack' by Joshua Slone was written by a heartbroken 21 year old from Scotland.
