Alaina May Shares New Single ‘Tourniquet’

Rising Brooklyn-based indie artist Alaina May has just shared her brand new single Tourniquet, a tender and aching meditation on the uneasy process of letting go.

Following The Dog and Casual, Tourniquet pushes deeper into the emotional terrain of May’s songwriting, living in the tension between longing and acceptance. The song emerged from May’s reflections on her first year in New York, when she found herself caught between trying to move on from a relationship and still wanting it back.

The latest single to be taken from her forthcoming body of work created alongside acclaimed indie rock duo TOLEDO, Tourniquet pairs Alaina May's tender, heartfelt vocals with gentle acoustic instrumentation featuring delicate guitar plucks, subtle piano keys, steady drum beats and dreamy textures that come together to create an overall smooth, intimate listening experience packed with raw emotion and soul perfect for an introspective day alone.

Speaking about the song, Alaina May said,
This is truly one of my favorite songs I've ever written. Writing it felt so immediate and honest. It was one of those rare moments as a writer when you sort of enter a high and everything spills out onto the page. I hope those listening love it as much as I do.
