Sjana Rut Drops New Single ‘Mine’

Icelandic talent Sjana Rut has just dropped her brand new single Mine, an 80s-tinged disco-pop banger. 

 

Taken from her upcoming album Before I Fall in Love, set to arrive in October, Mine is a playful and confident pop song about the moment someone’s dirty little secret finally comes to light, and the one who wronged you realises that you are doing just fine without them. A message that is delivered through Rut's rich, passionate vocals which glide confidently over the 80s-pop/disco-infused production. Accompanying her gorgeous vocals we have groovy rhythms, warm synths, lush guitar riffs, steady beats and textures that come together to create an overall upbeat, feel-good atmosphere.

The central theme of the song is the message that I used to be yours, but now I’m mine. It’s about knowing when something is no longer right for you, having the courage to leave it behind and being happy with the person you’ve become on the other side.
