Saint Micah Drops New Single ‘The Grind’

Prolific pop artist and virtuoso pianist, Saint Micah (the alias of South Carolina-native Micah McLaurin) has just released the transformational, official video for his new dance pop single The Grind.

I am really enjoying the confidence and sensuality that radiates from Saint Micah's smooth, expressive vocals. The Grind finds the talented artist capturing one's inner conflict while in the pursuit for their own identity. Apart from his gorgeous vocals, I am very fond of the driving beat nicely intertwined with bright electronic elements, lush strings and synths, distorted rhythms and textures that come together to create an overall confident, sensual listening experience. Its accompanying high-concept, fashion-forward music video, directed by visual artists and fashion photographers Domen and Van De Velde, find the Watch the high-concept, features custom couture looks as well as pieces from Balmain, Zaldy, and Robert Cavalli.

Speaking about the video, directors Domen and Van De Velde said,
‘The Grind’ explores the search for identity, and the way a beautiful sense of self can become distorted under the pressure of society. Through shifting characters, identities and atmospheres, we wanted to visualize Saint Micah’s inner conflict in a way that feels honest, emotional and intentionally stripped back. The simplicity of the video allows the struggle itself to breathe.
