Noum Shares New Single ‘Early Blossom’

Noum, the musical project of singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Noémie Ducimetière, has just shared her brand new single Early Blossom, a smooth indie-pop/rock cut.

Early Blossom finds the London-based artist sharing a message about growth through struggling, encouraging listeners to not give up even when there is failure. A song about accepting that sometimes in order to get to where you want to be, you have to accept being on the floor for a bit, a discarded petal, all dirty and crumpled. This message is beautifully conveyed through Noum's delicate, expressive vocals which radiate raw emotion and soul, floating effortlessly over the hypnotic production. Accompanying those gorgeous vocals we have lush guitars, steady drum beats, echoing, haunting harmonies, delicate textures and rhythms that come together to create an overall warm and intimate listening experience perfect for a laid-back weekend.

Speaking of the track, Noum says,
Sometimes in life something happens that gives you an opportunity to grow. Life throws you a new struggle, a new obstacle, and you have no choice but to face it, and stand a bit taller than you are used to standing. This happened to me at a time when a tree outside my new apartment's window had just blossomed, I was seeing it in bloom for the very first time. It was an uplifting sight in a tough period. Every time there was a gust of wind, some of its pink petals would break off into the air and drift to the ground together, in a sad little flock. If I had to fall, I wanted to fall as gracefully as those petals, as patiently, though I knew it was asking a lot, I decided to try and at the very least, it helped me not act like a twat. Writing the song was like the spell that bound these efforts together, through finding the right words, and the repetition that comes with writing and learning, it forced me to think about it so much that I do actually think I absorbed something valuable.
