Canadian artist Matt Storm has just unveiled his brand new single system breaks, a smooth Neo Soul/Indie R&B cut. 

 

The follow up to his smooth indie-folk/Bossa Nova gem mtv unplugged and the psych-rock cut words don't describe, system breaks is a smooth piece of music that speak of a man beaten down by a modern system of micro-oppressions, unable to make himself without the help of the machine. It's a thought-provoking exploration of losing your sense of self to an ideology, relationship, or system that slowly takes over your thoughts until you can no longer remember who you were before it. A message beautifully conveyed through Storm's silky smooth vocals which glide nonchalantly over the chilled out production that pairs gorgeous drum beats with alternative acoustic guitar fingerpicking, lush keys and rhythms, together creating an overall warm, laid-back atmosphere.
