LEEDY Shares New Single ‘Hints’
CaesarLiveNLoud
American artist LEEDY has just shared her brand new single Hints, a moody indie-pop cut that explores the complexity and exhaustion that come from an obnoxious person.
Through LEEDY's introspective lyricism, Hints centres around the underlying resentment and the irritability of navigating someone who is drowning in insecurity and obliviousness, deteriorating a connection along the way. LEEDY's smooth, soothing vocals perfectly capture the aggravation and mental toll of being around someone lost in their own head. Balancing her breathy vocals with airy synths, vibrating guitar, and conversational delivery, this release unfolds as an observational story, where the fear of isolation becomes an unwanted reality of trying to reach people who are unwilling to confront their own behaviour. This is a great cut for a laid-back weekend and you can check it out below!
Speaking about the song, LEEDY said,
I intended this to sound like a fun, sexy love song, but it actually has nothing to do with love at all. The song is filled with subtle ‘hints’ as to why this person is totally insufferable and clearly has no idea that the listener has clocked their undesirable personal traits. I wanted to write a song that draws from experience about a topic that is considered more serious and frustrating, but takes its power away and makes it kind of funny.
