MICHAELA Shares New Single ‘TTYN’

London-based pop / R&B artist and songwriter MICHAELA has just shared her brand new single TTYN (Talk To You Never), a sharp yet playful alt-pop gem.
Taken from her forthcoming EP, due later this year, TTYN finds the talented artist singing about that moment when one realises, mid-date, that it's not going anywhere, and deciding not to force it. It captures the awkward conversation, forced moments, lack of chemistry and the emotional switch-off that happens when you stop trying. It's a song about choosing not to force connections that don't feel right, a message that is beautifully conveyed through MICHAELA's rich, confident vocals. Accompanying her lovely vocals we have a polished contemporary production that pairs shimmering pop touches, infectious guitar lines, expansive synths and catchy beats that come together to create an overall upbeat, feel-good amtosphere.
Speaking about the song, MICHAELA said,
The song came together about 30 minutes after a bad date. I wrote it with Afterparty and Steven Chase, and it came together really fast, almost instinctively. I wanted to write it while the feeling was still raw, slightly annoyed, detached, and done. There wasn’t much overthinking involved, it was just translating the experience exactly as it felt in that moment. This isn’t a heartbreak song. It's more about emotional clarity. It reflects a dating mindset where walking away feels easier than forcing something that isn’t there. The track leans into honesty, detachment, and knowing when to exit early. It’s understated, blunt, and relatable, especially for anyone who’s been on a date that never stood a chance.
