Canadian singer and songwriter Gabriela Bee shares her brand new single 17, a melodic and introspective alt-pop gem out now via DOOGOOD. 
 
Written, produced, and mixed entirely by Bee, 17 release marks a shift toward a more self-contained and personal approach to her music, and hints at a broader coming-of-age project due later this year. Speaking on the story behind the track, Bee shares: 
17 was the year my brain learned to hurt itself. I was suddenly so aware of myself and everyone around me, and was completely living in my head. I think that year was the most I’ve ever stayed in my room. I had a few cannon events happen that I’d rather never revisit, even though I did write this song as a humble reminder. Though I’ve come a long way, I’ll always have love for myself at that age. I just wish I wasn’t such a sad 17-year-old, because so many things passed me by and I didn’t stop to take a look around at where I was instead of being in my head about everything.
