Francisca Valenzuela Drops New Single ‘Bugambilia’
CaesarLiveNLoud
Chilean singer-songwriter and Latin GRAMMY® nominee Francisca Valenzuela just released Bugambilia, an emotionally-charged alt-pop/world-music track.
The first taste of her upcoming project, Bugambilia draws inspiration from a bougainvillea plant outside her bedroom window during the postpartum period — a flower that felt like a quiet witness to everything she was going through. This is a raw and unflincing portrayal of postpartum depression where a new mother is met with darkness, loneliness, and a profound sense of not being enough. It makes one feel that their experience doesn't match what a new mother is "supposed" to feel. A powerful song that gives voice to an experience many mothers feel but rarely speak about openly for fearing of being misunderstood of cast out for being different. This heartfelt song is beautifully conveyedh through Valenzuela's rich, passionate vocals which are accompanied by a memorable production built around piano and lush strings, together creating an overall moody and melancholic listening experience.
