Julian Taylor Unveils New Single ‘Hunger’
Toronto-based singer-songwriter Julian Taylor unveils his brand new single Hunger, the latest single taken from Taylor’s new album, Anthology, Vol. 2, out now via Howling Turtle.
Originally written by Graeme Williamson, Hunger is a traditional folk song with a very Celtic feel that finds the talented artist expanding the original acoustic arrangement into a full-band performance. A song that sheds light on the devastating reality of hunger in the world, especially when there are ways to erradicate it if there was any real will from those in a position of power. This song is beautifully conveyed through Julian Taylor's rich, expressive vocals which are accompanied by delicate acoustic guitar plucks nicely intertwined with lush strings, steady beats, echoing harmonies and rhythms that together create an overall warm and timeless atmosphere with a powerful message!
Speaking about the song, Julian Taylor said,
When I first heard the song, it was the lyrics that really struck me. With everything going on in the world right now, hunger remains such a devastating and unnecessary reality. There are people with enough money to eradicate it in 24 hours, but they choose not to. Frank and I decided that we would donate a portion of the song’s sales to the Band Aid Charitable Trust.
