Delaney W Drops New Single ‘Plastic Stars’
American singer and songwriter Delaney W (The frontman of Nashville-based band The Candid) shares his brand new single Plastic Stars, a passionate indie/pop-rock gem out now via Hippocratic Records.
Written, recorded, produced and performed entirely in his home studio in Nashville, Tennessee, Plastic Stars finds the talented artist reflecting on the innocence and fearlessness of childhood dreams and the anxiety and doubt that come with growing up. It's a way to reconnect with his younger self who was afraid of choosing wrong, longing to rediscover self-belief and courage. A song that is beautifully conveyed through Willson's dulcet, passionate vocals which radiate raw, honest emotion while soaring effortlessly atop the high-energy pop/rock production. Apart from his gorgeous vocals, I am particularly fond of the soaring guitars which are nicely intertwined with steady drum patterns and strings that together make this quite a memorable and enthralling listening experience.
Speaking about the song, Delaney W said,
I wrote Plastic Stars after having the realization that 8 year old me was a whole lot more brave than current me. As a kid, I wasn't scared to share my dreams openly or to passionately pursue them, but as an adult I've found it much easier to let fear of judgement stop me in my tracks. This song is my attempt to reconcile with that part of my brain that keeps me from leaping into the unknown.
