Haunted Like Human Drop New Single ‘Growing Pains’
Nashville-based duo Haunted Like Human, consisting of classically trained guitarist Cody Clark and singer/songwriter Dale Chapman, have just shared their brand new single Growing Pains, a captivating folk/singer & songwriter song with touches of Americana.
The follow up to last month's Appaloosa, Growing Pains the latest single to be taken for their upcoming third album, American Mythology, set to arrive on November 21st. A protest song that explores the true price of progress, Growing Pains finds the duo beautifully showcasing their rich, expressive vocals and storytelling abilities over a memorable and captivating production that won me over from the start. This gem criticises how those in power rewrite history to cast themselves as heroes while hiding their greed, violence, and exploitation; calling out the cycle of power protecting itself.
Accompanying their gorgeous vocals we have lush instrumentation with delicate cello strings nicely intertwined with fiddle and acoustic guitar plucks, steady beats and rhythms that come together to create an overall warm and powerful listening experience.
Speaking about the song, Dale said,
The history that many of us are taught is often touched up to gloss over and justify the ugly truths and feed into the idea of American exceptionalism. When in reality, the American empire is just as guilty as any other of idolizing expansion and power at the cost of everyone and everything else.
