It's even harder to process that loss if that person lives in the same area as you and you have to see them but now they treat you like a stranger.
A relatable song about apologising and saying goodbye to someone you'll love for the rest of your life, sydney finds avalon beautifully showcasing her smooth, expressive vocals which radiate raw emotion and soul from start to finish. Blending influences from Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald to Tyler, the Creator, Jon Bellion, and Billie Eilish, avalon has a way of brilliantly defying boundaries. Speaking about the song, avalon said,
I wrote this song about my childhood best friend, whose name is actually Sydney. After 11 years, when we were both 16, our friendship ended quite abruptly. Fast forward to last year: I was going through a hard time in my life and all I wanted was my best friend. I began to mourn her. And mourning someone who is still alive is incredibly difficult. This song is many things: It’s a time capsule, a love letter, an apology, and an overdue, proper, goodbye to someone I will love for the rest of my life.
