Swedish-Greek singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and producer Plàsi has just shared his brand new single Father's Eyes, the latest single to be taken from his latest EP Camino, out now via Nettwerk.
I am a fan of his smooth, soothing vocals which radiate raw emotion and vulnerability from start to finish, effortlessly drawing our attention to his relatable storytelling. Father's Eyes explores the complex emotional legacy that is passed down from father to child; about the toxic relationships we can have with our parents, and as we grow older, we begin to recognise the parts of them that live in us, no matter how hard we tried to be different from them. A relatable storytelling flawlessly conveyed through his lush, evocative vocals which are accompanied by a pulsating beat and intricate acoustic guitar plucks that create an overall warm, intimate atmosphere perfect for an introspective day home alone!
Speaking about the song, Plàsi said,
I was searching for a grounded feeling where you could feel the acoustic elements without losing the bigger picture. I finally found that sound on ‘Father’s Eyes’. It’s about the toxic relationship we can have with our parents. We don’t want to see or learn from our similarities. Instead, we’re just trying to be different from them. The lyrics are like a discussion between a father and a son. You get both sides. However, there’s a hopeful undertone. Maybe we can learn from one another instead of focusing on our differences.
