Kat Velasco Unveils New Single ‘Kitchen Sink’
Nashville-based Western pop artist Kat Velasco shares her brand new single Kitchen Sink, a reflective nod to the small-town South Carolina life where gossip runs rampant and being the center of attention is a familiar rite of passage.
Co-written by Melissa Sheridan and Anna Vaus and produced by Andy Sheridan, Kitchen Sink delivers a sharp, witty narrative driven by Kat Velasco’s unfiltered honesty about life in a town where everyone knows your business (something I am very familiar as I come from a small town in a small island). I am loving the energy and confidence pouring from her signature velvety vocals which, combined with her diary-like lyricism, shares a message that we should not suppress ourselves because of the opinions of others. A message wrapped around a modern country-pop sound, featuring killer bass, drums, electric guitars and keys, with irresistibly catchy, twang-infused undertones, perfect for a carefree summer's day!
Velasco describes the story behind the song, explaining,
‘Kitchen Sink’ is my new country single, based in a town where rumors travel faster than you can wash it down the drain. A loud and upbeat unfiltered anthem about gossip, karma, and the way we all get caught up in the spin. Growing up in a small town in South Carolina, I've been the talk of the town more than a few times, and I've never been the type to water myself down for anyone. The wild child in me is constantly inspired by this song, so if you've ever been the talk of the town (or started it), this one's definitely for you!
