ASHY Shares New Single ‘Ottoman’
New Zealand-based pop artist and songwriter ASHY (pronounced ‘Ahh-She’) shares her brand new single Ottoman, an infectious electro/alt-pop song.
Produced by James Guido, Ottoman is a song about feeling overlooked and underestimated, having to work harder to be recognised on the same level as others. It captures the emotions of struggling to keep up and watching someone burn bridges along their journey to success. A message beautifully conveyed through ASHY's rich, confident vocals which radiate so much passion and soul from start to finish. Accompanying her stellar vocal performance we have an infectious production that pairs killer beats with catchy synths, groovy bass and captivating melodies that create an overall warm, confident and energetic atmosphere!
Speaking about the song, ASHY said,
Ottoman focuses on challenges I’ve had in the music industry and in life in general when I’ve been underestimated. The main lyrics in the pre chorus ‘all too often I’m at a loss I’m 10 steps behind at the start, on the Ottoman out of oxygen while you’re walking I’m running’ actually directly speaks on how I’ve felt being an Indian women in the commercial industry and that I have had to work 10 times harder to be recognised on the same level as some of my peers. This also has happened many times in my normal life, having to prove that I belong and should be treated the same as others when I first meet someone.
