Avery Dakin Unveils New Single ‘Too Close’

Canadian singer and songwriter Avery Dakin shares her brand new single Too Close, a cheeky Pop/R&B anthem for subjects of love-bombing everywhere.

Out now via WHARF RECORDS, Too Close finds the talented artist sharing a message of self-confidence and empowerment, refusing to be shaped by someone else's expectations. A song that shows we are a whole person in a relationship and not just a reflection of another's desires, a message beautifully conveyed through Dakin's expressive and dynamic vocal delivery. I am also very fond of the production which has some retro touches that won me over and its playful melodies make it quite a memorable listening experience. I am particularly enjoying the organ keys, groovy bass, catchy guitar plucks and steady drums that create a warm atmosphere for her lovely vocals and relatable storytelling to soar!

Speaking about the song, Avery Dakin said,
My new single ‘Too Close’ sounds like a rowdy night with friends spent unpacking a romantic misadventure, complete with silly chatter, playful stops, and a newfound sense of boldness. Accompanying this song is a lyric video that lends itself to the theme of feeling objectified.I got to take a trip down memory lane and revisit one of my favourite toys growing up: Polly Pockets. I wanted to show the comparison between myself and the doll; to create the plastic world that I’d been relegated to in this new relationship that was moving too fast for comfort.
