townsend, the moniker of Nashville-based singer, songwriter, musician and producer John Townsend, has just shared his brand new single whiplash, the latest single to be taken from his upcoming EP titled recollections. 

 

Out now via 1993, whiplash is a captivating pop/EDM cut that starts quite smooth and comforting, with intricate acoustic guitar riffs backing his lush, heartfelt vocals before bursting with energy during the chorus. I am really fond of this ebb and flow between organic and electronic instrumentation, instantly making the song quite a memorable listening experience. You can easily feel the emotion pouring from his passionate vocal delivery which is enhanced by the gorgeous guitars and is given a boost of energy with the killer rhythms and beats during the chorus.
