Sophia Angeles Shares New Single ‘Distract Myself’

American pop singer/songwriter Sophia Angeles has just shared her brand new single Distract Myself, a captivating electro-pop song about trying to distract oneself from the pain of a breakup.

I am really enjoying how smooth and sweet Sophia's vocals sound, beautifully infusing the song with a touch of vulnerability and emotion that brings listeners to connect with her relatable storytelling. Distract Myself finds the talented artist singing about thinking of ways to distract herself from the pain of a breakup, from working longer hours to spend more time with friends. This song was co-written with Chelsea Balan and is wrapped around an infectious electro-pop production, by Adam Turley, that features a retro-inspired driving beat with delicate piano keys, bright, shimmery synths and rhythms that come together to create an overall warm atmosphere.

Speaking about the song, Sophia Angeles said,
I wrote “Distract Myself” about the feeling of trying to do anything you can to distract yourself from the pain of a breakup. When I went through a breakup I found myself hanging out with my friends more, partying, working longer shifts just to avoid calling or thinking about my ex. I realized that was a really interesting song concept so I started writing it to help process what I was going through. I co-wrote “Distract Myself” with my amazing co-writer Chelsea Balan who recently signed a publishing deal in LA. Our goal was to make a song that you could dance and cry to with lyrics that everyone could relate to. Adam Turley produced the song and he's an amazing pop artist/producer and has worked with some of my favorite artists like Heather Sommer and Jessica Baio.
