The Ballroom Thieves Share New Single ‘Right on Time’
American indie-folk duo The Ballroom Thieves, consisting of Calin Peters and Martin Earley, have just shared their brand new single Right On Time, the second single from their upcoming Spring album Sundust.
Written when Earley began reminiscing about a childhood memory from middle school, Right on Time is a warm and intimate piece of music brimming with nostalgia and laid-back vibes, perfect for a relaxing weekend thinking about the good old days. I am loving Martin Earley gorgeous vocals which are packed with soul and how they are perfectly backed by a memorable indie-folk production that pairs intricate acoustic guitar riffs with steady drum patterns, catchy bass, electric guitars and catchy rhythms that come together to create a warm, enthralling listening experience. This song is accompanied by a lovely music video which beautifully embodies the song's message and warmth.
Speaking about the song, Martin Earley shares,
My dad built a little woodshed in the front yard. My best friend and I decided it would be necessary to christen it by sleeping in a poorly constructed tarp tent on its roof. It was freezing at night and hot in the morning, and the combination of an angled roof and rough shingles made for a deeply uncomfortable bed. We slept out there for a whole week and I still remember our parents shaking their heads in confusion like it was yesterday. But it wasn’t yesterday. It was years and years ago and somehow life just keeps rolling by, and that’s what ‘Right on Time’ is about.”
