Wax Owls Share New Single ‘All On Red’
Los Angeles indie-folk trio Wax Owls share their brand new single All On Red, a passionate, anthemic indie-folk song taken from their forthcoming debut EP Cowboy Cologne.
I am really enjoying the tone of Gerry Hirschfeld's lovely vocals which exude so much passion and emotion, instantly setting the tone for a memorable listening experience. Written by Hirschfeld about indecision, All On Red shows how at times we struggle with making a choice, asking friends and family for advice but in the end it's up to us to make the decision. I am a master when it comes to indecision and I do know the struggle and I like how the song gives us a hopeful message. Backing Gerry's gorgeous vocals, we have a captivating indie-folk production that pairs lush guitar strings with steady drum patterns, a beautifully-placed bridge guitar solo and an anthemic chorus that makes this song perfect to sing along to and to give us that extra boost of energy to go on with our day. Vocalist Gerry Hirschfeld says on the track,
I wrote All On Red as a way to work through indecision. Even the most self-assured people will occasionally suffer from not being able to make a choice. We’ll ask friends and family for advice but ultimately it is up to us to make the final call on what we’re going to do and even after making our choice we can wrestle with whether or not we made the right choice. Nothing typifies this more than the moments after you place a bet on the roulette table and you watch the ball spinning hoping it lands the way you want it to. Musically, the song exists in those hopeful moments after you make a decision and before you know the outcome, good or bad.
