Manuel Turizo & Marshmello Share New Single "El Merengue"

Grammy-nominated artist and producer, Marshmello has teamed up with Colombian top-charting Latin artist Manuel Turizo to release a joint single El Merengue, which pays homage to the merengue electrónico music from the early 2000s. 

 

I am really enjoying this collaboration that beautifully pairs Marshmello's producing skills with Manuel Turizo's smooth, sensual vocals. The whole atmosphere of the song is quite upbeat and uplifting, instantly giving me the urge to get up and dance. I am particularly fond of the groovy rhythms and how they are nicely paired with electronic elements that create an overall warm, danceable atmosphere. 

 

The official music visual for El Merengue, directed by Chadrick Preuss and Sandeep Vadlamudi, showcases Turizo reminiscing about his ex-girlfriend just before spotting her in the crowd of a nightclub. With some liquid courage, Turizo acts on impulse to approach her and the two ex-flames dance together in a haze over the smooth merengue electrónico beat — or is it all a dream? When the night closes, Turizo is consumed by emotion, but his friend Marshmello consoles him and the two head out. Check it out below!
