TRONG Shares New Single ‘Dare To Be Different’

Vietnamese vocalist and performer TRONG (born Trong Hieu) has just shared his brand new single Dare To Be Different, his entry gor the German national selection for this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

Out now via Embassy of Music, Dare To Be Different finds the talented artist aiming to be the first ever Asian contestant to compete for Germany. This song encourages listeners to be self-confident and true to who they are. TRONG’s catchy, floor-ready V-pop heater puts Vietnam back on the Southeast Asian musical map. And not only that, while four-to-the-floor and string stabs might be pure nu-disco, placing them side by side with a traditional 16-string zither commonly known as đàn tranh paints a picture of an emerging artist genuinely proud of his heritage and past. I am really enjoying his vocals and how uplifting, danceable and anthemic this song is, with groovy rhythms and melodies creating an overall feel-good atmosphere perfect to brighten up your day.

On the video he pokes fun at Hollywood caricatures through a slick execution of an Eastern martial art influenced choreography sporting a ninja-like outfit and an iconic rice hat.
