Maya Malkin Shares New Single ‘Honey’
Toronto-based artist Maya Malkin has just shared her brand new single Honey, the latest single to be taken from her eagerly-awaited debut album Congratulations, set to arrive on February 17th via Garment District Records / Fontana North.
I am really enjoying Maya Malkin's lovely, expressive vocals which beautifully infuse the song with a memorable dose of warmth and emotion that instantly got me in a good mood right after the very first listen. Honey is a glittering alt-pop song about the calm before the storm and its production makes for a fun and uplifting listen. Apart from Maya's gorgeous vocals, I am particularly fond of the bright synths which are seamlessly intertwined with cool guitar riffs and a punchy beat that together create an overall warm, feel-good atmosphere. Honey is the calm before the storm. Probably the most lighthearted on the album, and one of the only songs with a positive twist, Honey hints at the issues that the rest of the album tackles without yet understanding the darkness that lies ahead.
