Berlin-based, Danish artist Lasse Matthiessen has just shared his brand new single Ocean, a captivating electro-pop song out now via Zpektakel.
What I like the most about this song is Lasse's deeply melancholic vocal, packed with so much soul and raw emotion that instantly captures the listener's attention from the start. Ocean is a love poem about Berlin, a declaration of love that is wrapped around a polished electronic production. Apart from Lasse's rich vocals, I am particularly fond of the dark and glitchy synths that are seamlessly intertwined with a pulsation electronic rhythm section that gives me 80s synth pop vibes and creates an overall warm atmosphere perfect for a chill, introspective day at home or long drives at night. Ocean is an electronic love poem about Berlin when the sun sets and the city dives into the “concrete ocean” of houses in the twilight. It is a declaration of love to the woman who might still be on the other side of the concrete ocean.
