Greek Brothers Share New Single ‘Sotomayor’ ft. Dánico

London-based duo Greek Brothers have just shared their sophomore single Sotomayor, a summery piece of latin pop music out now via Malmo Records.

This is one of those songs that instantly got me in a good mood, easily transporting me to a Cuban state of mind, even though I've never been there. Sotomayor is a homage to their childhood sports hero, Felix Sotomayor, who holds the world record for the men's high jump. For this song the brothers teamed up with Chilean artist Dánico whose lush, confident vocals instantly set the tone for a carefree and blissful listening experience. Backing his voice we have captivating backing vocals in Spanish that are joined by classic Latin horns, montuno piano, lively percussion and intricate guitar riffs that together create and overall warm, feel-good atmosphere perfect for a carefree summer's day. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Greek Brothers said,
The song is named after our nineties childhood sports hero, Felix Sotomayor, who holds the world record for the men's high jump. We wanted to make a song that was a fun homage to Cuba drawing on all of it' stereotypes. Whilst many of us have never been to Cuba and don't know much about the country beyond the cigars and the rum, it's a place that has captured people's imagination in a very unique way, giving rise to the "Cuban state of mind".
